Good afternoon Butch, words cannot express how much I love the pavers! They never ever looked this new. Thank you for doing such an awesome job for us. We really really appreciate it. Please don’t retire! Take care. D. Ciard
Algae Bio-Film, Black Algae Staining and Moss Produce Unsightly Stains on pavers and other hardscapes. These growths destroy the aesthetic appeal of your hardscape and can also be a health risk as you walk across your pavers and drag the mold spores into your home.
Similar to plants, mold can develop roots and grow from virtually any space where there is a collection of moisture from water and humidity, such as the pores of exteriors like stone. And while the presence of mold is certainly unattractive to any business or homeowner, it isn’t until the mold encounters strong sun-light that the real problem begins. You see, in the presence of strong sunlight, mold will form a dark blackish green shell around itself as a sort of protection mechanism against the sun’s powerful ultra-violet rays, leading to staining. And as if this initial staining alone isn’t bad enough… the mold at this stage is now able to hold onto moisture longer, meaning the root system will continue to develop and allow for the spreading of mold across the structure leading to, you guessed it, more future staining!
On hardscape projects that are affected by these growths, we use Eco Mold Go to remove the unsightly and destructive biological growth. Unlike traditional ineffective methods, Paver Pro’s applies a revolutionary bleach and chlorine free, thorough, gentle, biodegradable, and environmentally friendly bioactive solution to effectively remove black algae stains, mold mildew, moss, lichen, fungus, and bacterial viruses. Our solution actually removes the embedded systemic root system in addition to the surface mold Unlike Pressure Washing or “Soft Washing”, So not only achieving a drastic improvement in surface appearance, but you’re also eliminating your mold at the source!
Pressure/Power washing is a mechanical cleaning method that attempts to remove visible staining from exterior surfaces. And although a popular choice for many property owners, this method definitely has it downsides. You see, although there will be an improvement in appearance, the fact that it is very difficult to remove all of the Algae protective shell means some visible staining (along with the entire root system!) will be left behind. Because of this, visible surface growth will return in time, meaning that all the pressure/power wash did was buy you a little time instead of actually eradicating the problem. On top of this, pressure/power washing can also damage stone and other exterior surfaces if performed too often or with too much force.
